4) No Endorsement; Independent Verification Required

- certifications and claimed qualifications, and

For Texas licensure and disciplinary records, the public may consult the State Bar of Texas resources.
5) “Specialist” / “Board Certified” / TBLS
Texas attorneys may not advertise themselves as a “specialist” in a particular field of law unless they are certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) in that field.
Where a profile indicates “Board Certified” or similar language:
- that certification is asserted by the attorney or firm (typically through the profile claim process),
- it is the attorney’s responsibility to substantiate, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of such claims, and
- TX Law Advisor may verify or require documentation before displaying a “Board Certified” badge.
Members of the public can verify TBLS certifications at tbls.org.
6) Featured / Paid Placements (Pro Spotlight)
“Featured” and “Pro Spotlight” placements are paid promotional positions.
- Inclusion as a featured firm is not an endorsement of that firm’s services.
- Featured placement does not imply the firm is more qualified than non-featured attorneys listed in the directory.
- Featured placement does not guarantee results, outcomes, or client satisfaction.
