About TX Law Advisor

TX Law Advisor is a curated directory of Texas attorneys built for the way real clients actually search for legal help — by location, by practice area, and by reputation. Every featured firm has been individually verified by our team, and every site review is moderated before it appears.

We built Texas Law Advisor to reduce the noise and friction people run into when trying to hire a lawyer. Instead of forcing clients to dig through ads, outdated listings, and unclear credentials, we focus on presenting law firms in a consistent, searchable format with transparent verification standards.

Built for how Texans actually find a lawyer

When someone needs legal help, they usually start with three questions:

  1. Who is near me?
  2. Who handles my type of case?
  3. Who has a solid reputation?

Texas Law Advisor is designed around those exact behaviors. You can browse firms by location, filter by practice area, and compare listings using information that is easy to scan and easy to verify.

What we show (and why)

Texas Law Advisor publishes law firm profiles in a structured format so clients can make faster, more informed decisions. Depending on the listing type, profiles may include:

  • Firm or office name
  • Phone number and website
  • Location and service area
  • Practice area categories
  • Public links to external profiles (when available)
  • Site reviews submitted by visitors (moderated before publishing)
  • Trust signals such as verification badges and featured placement (when applicable)

We aim for consistency and clarity — so users aren’t forced to interpret messy or contradictory information across multiple sources.

How profiles are sourced

The base directory is seeded from publicly available Texas business listings. This allows the directory to exist at scale and helps clients find firms even if the firm has never heard of Texas Law Advisor.

From there, firms can take control of their listing:

  1. Claim the profile
  2. Submit credentials to prove they are an authorized representative
  3. Get verified by our team
  4. Manage the listing directly (with an active subscription)

This approach keeps the directory useful for clients while giving legitimate firms a clear path to confirm ownership and improve accuracy.

Claiming and managing a listing

Texas Law Advisor allows firms to manage their listing only after verification.

When a firm claims a profile, the authorized representative must submit documentation that confirms they have the right to represent the office (for example: bar-related documentation, firm documentation, business proof of authority, or other materials requested during verification). Once verified, the firm may edit and enhance the listing through their account.

Firms can claim and manage their listings only after credential verification and an active subscription. This reduces fraudulent edits, protects consumers, and keeps the directory trustworthy.

Pro Spotlight (Featured Placement)

Some firms choose to upgrade their presence through Pro Spotlight, which is designed for firms that want enhanced visibility and stronger positioning in search results across the directory.

Pro Spotlight subscribers receive:

  • Permanent featured placement across the directory while their subscription remains active
  • Priority sort (featured listings appear before standard listings in relevant categories)
  • A dedicated Pro Spotlight badge surface to distinguish featured firms
  • Additional listing enhancements and visibility modules as they are released

All Pro Spotlight placements remain subject to verification standards and administrative review.

Verification standards

Verification is the backbone of Texas Law Advisor. We use clear rules to ensure the directory remains accurate, fair, and compliant.

1) Credential verification for firms

Firms can claim and manage their listings only after credential verification and an active subscription. This ensures that edits come from authorized representatives, not competitors, disgruntled individuals, or random third parties.

2) Review moderation

Site reviews submitted by visitors are moderated before publication. Reviews are screened for spam, harassment, impersonation, private/confidential information, and other content that undermines trust or violates our policies.

We believe reviews should add context — not create chaos — and moderation helps preserve that.

3) Admin-verified “Board Certified” badge (TBLS)

Texas Board of Legal Specialization certifications are meaningful — and they should be treated carefully.

Texas Board Legal Specialization (TBLS) certifications shown as a “Board Certified” badge are admin-verified — not pulled automatically from a website. We do not rely on scraped site copy or self-asserted claims to display this badge.

4) Advertising compliance (Texas Rule 7.04 and related rules)

The directory honors all Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct on advertising, including Rule 7.04.

That means we design listing features and badges to avoid misleading comparisons, unverifiable claims, or improper specialization language. When in doubt, we prefer conservative presentation and verifiable facts.

Independence and transparency

Texas Law Advisor is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The directory is an informational resource intended to help users identify and evaluate potential legal representation.

  • Inclusion in the directory does not imply endorsement.
  • Badges and featured placement indicate verification status and listing tier, not superiority or a guarantee of outcomes.
  • External links are provided for convenience and additional verification.
